What is an expansion joint and its role in piping systems
An expansion joint (expansion joint, thermal expansion compensator) is a device installed on pipelines supplied by TAN DAT MECHANICAL PRODUCTION TRADING AND SERVICE CO., LTD., used to absorb length changes when temperature fluctuates, while reducing vibration and compensating for minor misalignments. The main component is a thin, multi-ply stainless steel bellows with flanged or butt-weld ends; it can be equipped with tie rods to limit travel.
Classification of expansion joints and main product lines
We manufacture and distribute a variety of types to meet technical requirements:
- Stainless steel thermal expansion joints: Flanged or welded end design, used for steam, hot water, and hot oil lines.
- Compensators with inner sleeve (Pasty expansion joints): Features an internal sleeve and external tie rods to support effective compensation.
- Stainless steel expansion joints with 2 carbon steel JIS 10K flanges.
- Expansion joints for generator exhaust pipes and industrial piping systems.
Practical applications of stainless steel thermal expansion joints
The product plays an essential role in protecting pipelines from thermal stress, suitable for installation in steam lines, hot water lines, engine exhaust pipes, and various other industrial media.
Specifications to provide when ordering and fabricating at the workshop
For engineers and maintenance departments to select the correct equipment, the following parameters must be provided when ordering: nominal diameter DN, installation length, axial or lateral expansion travel, design temperature and pressure, fluid medium, and connection type (flange standard, weld end). Tan Dat accepts design and fabrication according to technical specifications or based on old samples directly at our workshop in Vinh Loc, Binh Chanh, HCMC.
